Hello, I'm Adam Turner

I'm am a senior at BYU studying computer engineering, with a strong interest and experience in software projects as well. I have a foundation in computer science and have hands-on experience in various technologies, helping me to tackle complex problems.

I am an engineering sub-contractor, with experience and interest in developing technnologies that make people's lives easier, whether that be in the form of physical devices or in the form of software applications. I consult with small businesses to provide technological solutions and make their ideas come to life.

Background & Education

I have a strong educational foundation in computer science and engineering, with hands-on experience in software development, system design, and project management. My academic background has provided me with a solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, scalable software design, and other engineering principles.

Throughout my schooling and career, I've worked on diverse projects ranging from web applications and mobile apps to embedded systems on esp32 or arduino. This variety has given me a well-rounded view of the software development process and integration with physical devices.

What I Do

I specialize in full-stack development with expertise in both frontend and backend technologies. My experience includes:

  • Web Development: Building responsive, user-friendly web applications
  • Mobile Development: Creating cross-platform mobile applications that provide seamless user experiences
  • Backend Development: Designing and implementing robust server-side solutions and APIs
  • Database Design: Working with DynamoDB, MongoDB, and Google Firestore databases for data storage and retrieval
  • Embedded Programming: Working with IOT systems involving ESP32 and Arduino, and integrating them with mobile/web applications

Hobbies & Interests

  • Photography: Landscape and night photography
  • Hiking & Outdoor Adventures: Exploring trails, climbing mountains
  • Music: Playing the piano and learning guitar

Personal Achievements

  • Marathon: Completed a full marathon in June 2025
  • Language Learning: Conversational in French, currently learning Spanish through personal study

Side Projects

  • MCP and AI tools: Currently learning how to build MCP servers and other tools for more efficient software development using AI.

Travel & Volunteering

  • International Travel: Visited 10+ countries, with memorable trips to Thailand, Guatemala, and Peru
  • Missionary Experience: Was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Congo and in Cameroon and in Canada
